Alternative Education

We provide highly customised vocational Pearson Edexcel BTEC courses across a range of in-demand industries and sectors. Each course is designed around the individuals participating, and delivered by experienced industry professionals.

Each curriculum focuses on skills and knowledge, with an emphasis on practical work-based learning. Our workshops, workspaces and studios are fully kitted out with industry standard equipment, giving our students an advantage when pursuing their careers of choice.

ENGINEERING

Our comprehensive BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Engineering covers a wide range of engineering sectors, the course covers design and production, welding and metal fabrication, electrical installation, mechanical maintenance and repair.

We select and design the units that are of most personal and professional value, and deliver them in a fun and engaging way that sets our students up for success in whatever path they pursue.

CONSTRUCTION

Our hands on BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Construction lays the foundations for a future career in the most in-demand trades. The course covers carpentry, electrics, plumbing, painting and decorating, and brickwork.

Our experienced tutors are craft experts in their respective fields, delivering sessions that blend planning and preparation with practical hands on work.

DIRT BIKING

Our high-octane outdoor learning and dirt biking days are a big highlight in The Avalon Project calendar. Held in private woodlands or motocross tracks, dirt biking days are carefully paced to stretch the technical abilities whilst being physical demanding and fun.

The sessions are designed to build resilience, encourage team-working, improve confidence and keep everyone motivated on their studies.

DIGITAL MEDIA

Our Digital Media courses are designed to inspire creativity, encourage self expression, and underpin the design and production fundamentals across music, graphics, film and photography.

Our fully equipped studio is kitted out with industry standard gear and software, giving students a space to both experiment and learn.

CATERING

Our Catering course covers all the essentials for budding cooks to level up in the kitchen and beyond. We pare things back to basics with nutrition, food safety and cooking principles, and then turn up the heat with butchery, live fire cooking, low and slow barbecue, and wok skills.

Sessions take place in our fully featured kitchen, giving students the chance to try their hand at a wide range of cooking methods and cuisines.

HONEST GRIND COFFEE

Funded by Camden Council’s Integrated Youth Support Service, Honest Grind Coffee is a radical employability programme giving London’s most vulnerable young people a place to engage in individually tailored training, to learn industry standard skills and to secure a spot in their chosen future career.

Honest Grind Coffee exists to create pathways to employment, we pay the equivalent of the London Living Wage and every penny we make goes back in to support the young people who come through our doors.
